Marlins activated C Nick Fortes from the 10-day injured list.
Fortes rejoins Miami’s catching mix after missing three weeks recovering from a left oblique strain. He’ll likely cut into top prospect Agustín Ramírez’s playing time behind the plate, but not enough to crater his fantasy appeal.
Marlins placed C Nick Fortes on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.
Fortes will be out for at least the next week-plus with the injury, but oblique strains typically take longer than that to heal. With Fortes out, the Marlins will add Rob Brantly to the active roster, and he and Liam Hicks will likely split catching duties.
Nick Fortes is again out of the Marlins lineup Sunday due to neck stiffness.
Fortes hasn’t played since Tuesday, though Saturday was the first time an injury was noted. Liam Hicks is making his fourth straight start today.
Nick Fortes was scratched from Saturday’s lineup against Atlanta.
No reason was given for why Fortes was removed from the lineup. He’ll take a seat with Liam Hicks now catching Cal Quantrill and hitting ninth.
