Julks entered the game as a defensive replacement in the fifth inning. He then made his presence felt when he strolled to the dish in the seventh, tattooing a 1-2 fastball from Austin Cox for a 388-foot (106.0 mph EV) go-ahead two-run blast. That lead would be short lived though. Julks also grounded out in the ninth inning, finishing the day 1-for-2. The 28-year-old outfielder will need a strong showing in Arizona to land a reserve role on the team’s Opening Day roster.

Julks went unclaimed after being designated for assignment. The 28-year-old outfielder hit just .214/.275/.306 in 2024 for Chicago last year, so it’s not a surprise other clubs didn’t have interest in adding him to their respective 40-man rosters.

Julks hit .214/.275/.306 with the White Sox in his limited action. The 28-year-old will hit the waiver wire, and it makes room for Cam Booser after the White Sox acquired Booser in a trade with the Red Sox.

Julks was hitting .214/.275/.306 in 189 plate appearances while mostly playing versus southpaws. The White Sox are keeping all of their infielders with Yoán Moncada back, so we imagine that means Miguel Vargas will take over as the left fielder against lefties.
