Giants optioned RHP Tristan Beck and INF/OF Wade Meckler to Triple-A Sacramento and reassigned C Logan Porter, LHP Enny Romero and INF Mike Lamb to minor league camp.

No real surprises here. Beck has a chance to make starts for the Giants in 2025, but was never going to make the Opening Day rotation. Meckler will likely be a bench option at some point this summer for San Francisco.

Tristan Beck allowed one run in 2 2/3 innings Wednesday in his start against the Guardians.

Beck struck out three and walked none. The run came on a homer from Bo Naylor. Beck missed most of last year with an aneurysm in his pitching arm, but he returned at the end of the year and had a 1.69 ERA in six relief appearances and one start. He’s back in the starting mix now, but it would take Kyle Harrison faltering or someone getting hurt to get him a spot in the Giants rotation. He could make the team as a middle reliever or head to Triple-A as insurance.

Tristan Beck allowed one run in four innings and got a no-decision in the Giants’ 6-5 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Beck gave up four hits, walked two and struck out three. It was his first start of the season after exclusively pitching out of the bullpen for the Giants. Beck had thrown multiple innings out of the bullpen on occasion. He threw 72 pitches. Beck ends the season with a 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 16 innings for the Giants.

Giants reinstated RHP Tristan Beck off the 60-day injured list.

Beck has yet to make an appearance for the Giants while working his way back from an aneurysm in his right arm. The right-hander gives the team a multi-inning option, and he could even get a chance to make starts for San Francisco before the year is over.
