2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: At face value, there may not be a ton to like from Lawrence last year. His 3.72 ERA was middle of the pack, and he posted a 4-7 record while converting just 11-of-18 save opportunities. However, he generates a ton of ground balls, and while he had well-documented struggles at Coors, he posted a 1.62 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the road, showing that he can be a shutdown reliever at times. It was really just a few bad outings at home that spoiled his numbers at home overall, and he has a really strong sweeper at his disposal (.151 BAA and 36.3 Whiff% in 2023).
2024 Outlook: If Lawrence continues to utilize his sweeper more, and lets his sinker generate ground balls, home runs shouldn't be a big issue for him, and he can be a productive fantasy option, despite his home field being Coors Field. I'm not overly worried about Tyler Kinley and Daniel Bard taking the job from him, and he's free in drafts, making him a late round flier for some saves.
