Ty France singled in the automatic runner in the bottom of the 10th to give the Twins a 4-3 win over the Mets on Wednesday.
Center fielder Tyrone Taylor came in very aggressively on the liner, hoping to throw out Byron Buxton at the plate, but it went off his glove on a hop. It was France’s lone hit in five at-bats. He was the Twins’ No. 3 hitter today, making this five different lineup spots (third through seventh) in five games for him. Maybe he’ll bat second Friday.
Ty France is batting fourth against a righty for the first time this season Tuesday against the Mets.
The Twins’ prolonged slump here has meant a lot of lineup shuffling of late. France hit fourth once previously, but that was versus a lefty. Matt Wallner moves up one spot to third tonight. Willi Castro is batting eighth after mostly hitting second and third lately. France is batting .288/.354/.441 with two homers through 65 plate appearances.
Ty France went 2-for-4 and drove in a run on Sunday afternoon as the Twins triumphed over the Tigers.
France led off the second inning with a single and scored the team’s second run on a two-out RBI single by Brooks Lee. He then drove in a run of his own with an infield single in the sixth inning that extended the Twins’ lead to 4-1. All France has done is hit so far this season, slashing .298/.355/.456 with a pair of homers and eight RBI. He’s locked into the middle of the Twins’ lineup on a nightly basis and makes for a decent corner infield option in deeper leagues.
Ty France hit a solo homer in a loss Thursday to the Royals.
France has his second homer of 2025 with a blast off Michael Wacha in the second. The former Mariner infielder has hit a passable .261/.320/.457 while driving in five runs over 13 games. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.
