Angels sent LHP José Quijada outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Quijada went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week. The 29-year-old lefty has made 106 relief appearances for the Angels dating back to 2020. He’s merely extra organizational relief depth at this stage of his career.

Quijada winds up losing his spot on Los Angeles’ 40-man roster to make room for several additions to the club’s Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old reliever has made 106 relief appearances for the Angels since 2020.
Angels and LHP José Quijada avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year $1.075 million contract with a $3.75 million club option for 2026.
Quijada was effective when on the mound, but was limited to just 19 2/3 innings with 24 strikeouts, 17 walks and a 3.26 ERA. He should be a set-up reliever for the Los Angeles bullpen in 2025.
