2024 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Webb logged a career high 216 innings last season with a 3.25 ERA (3.16 FIP), 1.07 WHIP, and 22.8 percent strikeout rate. While the right-hander allowed more hard contact last year than in any previous season, his extreme ground ball rate offsets that a bit. Last year, his 62.1 percent ground ball rate was the highest of his career. In a perfect world, Webb would provide a little more in the strikeout department, but when you are a workhorse like him, quantity can make up for a few things. I mean, he was only six strikeouts shy of reaching 200 last season! 

2024 Outlook: Webb is being drafted as a top twenty starter in fantasy baseball this season, and while he isn't the flashiest pick, he's a rock-solid, steady presence in your rotation, who is better suited as your team's SP2. There's no reason to think he can't provide a third straight season with at least 190 innings, a sub-3.40 ERA with a 20+ percent strikeout rate.
