Ramon Urías is back in the lineup for Thursday’s Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.
Urías has been out of action since Saturday because of hamstring soreness, but the 30-year-old’s absence was just precautionary.
Ramon Urías is day-to-day with hamstring soreness.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that he’s not concerned and expects Urías to return to the lineup soon. The 30-year-old is expected to occupy a versatile backup infield role on Baltimore’s bench to open the year.
Orioles and INF Ramon Urías avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.15 million contract.
The 30-year-old infielder filled in admirably when he was needed during the 2024 campaign, slashing .254/.322/.423 with 11 homers and 37 RBI in 301 plate appearances. It’s going to take a long-term injury or two in the O’s infield for Urías to see regular playing time and have any sort of fantasy relevance in 2025.
Orioles activated 3B Ramón Urías from the 10-day injured list.
Since Jordan Westburg is also being activated, Urías figures to return to a utility role. Before going down with a sprained ankle on Aug. 31, he was playing regularly at third base in Westburg’s absence.
