Burr opened the year on the shelf with shoulder inflammation and won’t be eligible to return until late May. The procedural move frees up a spot on Toronto’s 40-man roster.

The move is retroactive to March 24th, but Burr has not yet begun throwing. It’s unclear when he will return to the Blue Jays bullpen.
