Dean Kremer limited the Royals to three hits over seven innings in the Orioles’ 3-0 shutout victory Friday.

Kremer struck out just two and gave up 12 hard-hit balls tonight, but he allowed only a double and two singles. His velocity was actually down about one mph from where he’s typically sat this year, so we don’t see much of anything to be encouraged about here. He’ll take a 3-4 record and a 5.73 ERA into his next start versus the Twins.

Dean Kremer struggled once again in Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Tigers, giving up five runs on four hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

The right-hander also issued four walks on the day while striking out three. He had allowed just two runs through the first four innings — a two-run double by Javier Baez in the second — but the Tigers added another in the fifth and two more while chasing Kremer in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old hurler got six whiffs on 97 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 20 percent. He’ll bring a miserable 7.04 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 20/8 K/BB ratio (30 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Royals.

Kremer gave up the six hardest-hit balls of the game, all of them over 105 mph. They accounted for six hits and 15 total bases. The Orioles probably aren’t going to be able to do any better than Kremer in the near future, but this is yet another spot in their rotation that’s turned into a significant problem. Kremer is 2-3 with a 6.84 ERA ahead of his next start in Detroit.

Dean Kremer allowed four hits and one earned run with one walk and two strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Guardians on Wednesday.

This was as classic a Dean Kremer start as can be. He mixed his five pitches relatively evenly, stayed around the edges of the zone, and while he didn’t miss many bats, he barely gave up any hard contact either. His splitter was his primary pitch, but it wasn’t very effective as he practically never threw it in the zone and the Guardians rarely chased it either. So, he wound up in many deep counts without much damage being done against him. He’s lined up for a two-start week coming up against the Nationals and Tigers.
