2025 Player Outlook
It took Meadows just 82 games last year to hit nine home runs and steal nine bases while slashing .244/.310/.433. A very, very slow start to the year led the team to send him back to the minors for nearly two months, and then after he returned from a stint on the IL, he ended the year by hitting .296 with an .840 OPS over his final 201 plate appearances! He's an intriguing power/speed option who should hit atop the Detroit lineup. Ideally, he can cut into his 25 percent strikeout rate a bit and eliminate some of the swing-and-miss in his game, but even if he only hits .240 this year, he could be a 20/20 guy, or at least a 15/20 guy. I love the upside outside of the top 225 overall.

Parker Meadows (arm) has been cleared to resume his throwing program.
It’s the first time that Meadows has been cleared to throw since being shut down during the spring with right upper-arm nerve inflammation. He has also been doing defensive drills, completing conditioning and doing a daily hitting progression. Since he’s stationed on the 60-day injured list he won’t be eligible to return to action until the end of May, but this at least sounds like an encouraging step in the right direction for the 25-year-old outfielder.
Parker Meadows (arm) has resumed his hitting program as he continues to work his way back from right upper-arm nerve inflammation.
While it’s encouraging to hear that Meadows is swinging a bat again, he still hasn’t been cleared to start throwing which is the biggest hurdle that he’s going to have to clear and what shut him down in the first place. There’s still no clear timetable for when Meadows may be ready to rejoin the Tigers, but he’s not even eligible to return from the injured list until the end of May.
Tigers placed OF Parker Meadows on the 60-day injured list with a right upper-arm nerve inflammation.
Meadows has resumed light baseball activities, but will be shut down from throwing until late April as he continues to work his way back from a nerve-related issue in his right upper arm. The dynamic 25-year-old center fielder will be on the shelf until at least late May, even in best-case scenario. There is no official timetable for his return at this juncture. The procedural move frees up a spot on Detroit’s 40-man roster to officially sign veteran outfielder Manuel Margot to a one-year deal.
Parker Meadows will be shut down for the next four weeks after undergoing a nerve conduction test.
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Saturday that Meadows can continue light baseball activities, but isn’t able to resume throwing for at least another month. It’s unclear whether additional rest and treatment will ultimately lead to some improvement in his condition, but Meadows remains sidelined due to a nerve issue in his upper right arm. There isn’t a definitive return timetable at this juncture, but fantasy managers should expect him to remain out until sometime in late May or June, even in a best-case scenario since he’ll need several additional weeks to ramp up in the minors.
