2025 Player Outlook
Naylor gave fantasy managers 13 home runs and six stolen bases, but he hit just .201, and his strikeout rate ballooned to 31.4 percent. He really struggled against sliders, and the massive jump in strikeout rate can likely be attributed to a combination of less contact in the zone, more swings out of the zone, and a seven-percentage point jump in his whiff rate. He hasn't hit lefties well in his short MLB career, so there is some platoon risk, especially if Cleveland wants to ensure they get Fry's bat in the lineup against LHP (.996 OPS vs LHP in 2024). Naylor provides some cheap pop and a handful of stolen bases behind the dish, but he should only be on your radar if you play in AL-only or two catcher setups.

Bo Naylor clobbered a three-run homer on Wednesday, propelling the Guardians to a 4-2 victory over the Twins.
Naylor gave the Guardians a commanding four-run lead with his seventh-inning no-doubter to right field against Twins reliever Brock Stewart. The 25-year-old backstop has homered in back-to-back games and is up to four round-trippers on the season.
Bo Naylor with 1-for-3 with a solo homer against the Twins on Tuesday.
In a game that had just three solo homers score on the night, Naylor had one with a blast off Chris Paddack in the third inning for his third home run of the season. The 25-year-old backstop is hitting just .185/.280/.354 with seven runs scored, seven RBI, and a steal across 76 plate appearances. While he’s struggled at the plate, he’s shown improvements in his contact and plate discipline over last season.
Bo Naylor went 0-for-3 before being lifted from Monday’s blowout loss versus the Twins.
If Naylor is going to hit like Austin Hedges, the Guardians might as well just play Hedges. Naylor is batting .177 with two homers and six RBI in 73 plate appearances. His at-bats tonight produced two mile-high popups and a weak grounder for a combined xBA of .050.
Bo Naylor went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI as the Guardians outlasted the Pirates 10-7 on Friday.
The Guardians were up 10-2 after 6 1/2 innings tonight, but the Pirates made it interesting in the end. Naylor’s extra-base hits were just his second and third of the year, and he doubled his RBI total from three to six. He’s been quite a disappointment offensively for the last year-plus, but he has progressed enough defensively to keep the Guardians satisfied with their backstop situation.
