2025 Player Outlook
Turang was a fantasy star in 2024, largely due to his 50 stolen bases, which was third-most in all of baseball. Beyond the stolen bases, he cut his strikeout rate down from 2024 while maintaining an 8+ percent walk rate and upping his contact rate to 87.9 percent! He’ll be the everyday second baseman for the Brewers in 2025, and while his quality of contact metrics may be a bit underwhelming, he made enough improvements at the dish to replicate his 2024 season. He’s a near-lock for 35+ stolen bases in 2025, with upside of hitting above .260 and reaching double-digit home runs. Second base isn’t exactly the strongest position in fantasy baseball, but Turang is a worthwhile investment.
Player News
Brice Turang (illness) 2-for-3 with an RBI during Saturday’s loss to the Cubs.
Turang was back at second base and batting second on Saturday night after making an early exit from Friday’s showdown due to an ongoing illness that he’s been battling the past few days. It clearly hasn’t impacted his on-field performance, which is a relief for fantasy managers.
Brice Turang was removed from Friday’s game against the Cubs early due to illness.
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters after the game that Turang was still feeling the effects from his recent illness and was having trouble breathing, which is why he was pulled from the game. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see him get another day to rest on Saturday, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. The 25-year-old speedster should be considered day-to-day.
Brice Turang is back in the Brewers lineup Thursday after missing one game with an illness.
Isaac Collins and Vinny Capra split duties at second base in Turang’s place Wednesday, with Collins starting and getting two plate appearances and Capra coming in and batting three times.
Brice Turang was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to illness.
It’ll be rookie Isaac Collins, who connected for his first big-league homer on Tuesday night, taking over at the keystone in his absence. Turang might need a couple days to rest and recover before getting back into Milwaukee’s lineup. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
