2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Madrigal's .263 average and 10 stolen bases across 92 games last year were his biggest contributions to fantasy managers, but that likely didn't play but in the deepest of mixed leagues or NL-only setups. He doesn't hit for power, his OBP is fueled by his batting average, and he has a career 4.6 percent walk rate. To his credit, he posts elite contact rates, as his swinging strike rate, zone contact rate, and contact rate were all top-two in Major League Baseball last season.
2024 Outlook: Ideally, he would run a little bit more, as a .270+ average with 15+ stolen bases make him a more enticing fantasy option, but he's the type of player you select in the later rounds of NL-only formats to round out your team and boost the team's average (and hope for steals). If things go well for Madrigal in 2024, he'll hit .285-.290 with 15 stolen bases, though a .270-.275 average with 8-10 steals is a safer projection.
