Twins signed RHP A.J. Alexy to a minor league contract.
Alexy heads to Minnesota as extra pitching depth and will likely open next season at Triple-A St. Paul, barring a remarkable performance in Grapefruit League action. The 25-year-old righty struggled mightily in 16 appearances (four starts) last season for Triple-A Charlotte prior to being released by the White Sox. He made nine appearances (four starts) for the Rangers from 2021-2022, posting a lackluster 6.30 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 23/26 K/BB ratio across 30 innings of work. He’s unlikely to make an impact for fantasy managers next season.
White Sox released RHP AJ Alexy.
Alexy bounced around last offseason on waivers between the Rangers, Nationals, and Twins before finally landing with the White Sox in late January. The 25-year-old righty has made nine appearances (four starts) in the majors since the 2021 campaign.
