Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters on Friday that Connor Wong (finger) could be ready to rejoin the team in two-and-a-half weeks.

Cora noted that Wong hasn’t done much catching yet, but he has been hitting off of a tee and progressing well in his recovery. It sounds like he shouldn’t require an extended minor league rehab assignment, so fantasy managers should have Wong back in their lineups at some point in early May.

Red Sox placed C Connor Wong on the 10-day injured list with a left fifth finger fracture.

Wong was hurt when he was clipped by a George Springer swing last night, resulting in catcher’s interference. The 28-year-old was off to an ice-cold start offensively, having gone 2-for-23 with no extra-base hits. The Red Sox will go with Carlos Narvaez and Blake Sabol behind the plate in his absence. Expect Narvaez to get the bulk of the time, making him the better pickup in AL-only leagues.
