The Angels’ eight game winning streak is no more. Soriano allowed seven hits in the loss while walking three and picking up just a single strikeout in the contest. The 26-year-old still possesses a relatively solid 3.73 ERA on the season, and he’ll get a chance to bounce back next weekend against the Guardians in Cleveland.

Soriano gets the quality start, but there was a lot not-so-quality moments for the 26-year-old. He allowed six hits and four walks, but outside of a two-run first the right-hander was able to keep the traffic from crossing the plate. Soriano has mostly been solid for the Halos in 2025, and his ERA is a respectable 3.57 with a K/BB ratio of 46/27. He has a friendly matchup on paper over the weekend against the Marlins.

Both runs came in the fifth inning, which featured errors by Jo Adell and Logan O’Hoppe. Neither of those technically cost the Angels an out, but they allowed runners to advance, and the second run scored on a squeeze bunt from Martín Maldonado. It was Soriano’s sixth straight start without a win, and he remains 2-4 with a 3.46 ERA. He’ll pitch in Sacramento next time out.

Soriano left with a 4-3 lead, but it was erased quickly after his departure. The 26-year-old was not exactly dominant in his outing with eight hits allowed and four free passes, but he did strike out six to help balance things out a smidgen. Soriano takes an even ERA of 4.00 into a scheduled start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. There should be better options for that one.
