Braves activated OF Eli White from the paternity leave list; optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.
White has been away since Tuesday and will now head back to the minors. The 28-year-old is just 1-for-14 with seven strikeouts with the Braves this season.
Braves placed OF Eli White on the paternity leave list.
White will be away from the club for a few days with Nick Solak coming up from Triple-A Gwinnett to take his spot on Atlanta's bench.
Eli White is in center field and batting ninth on Monday against the Reds.
White was really impressive this spring in the Grapefruit League, batting .429 (12-for-28) with seven runs scored, three homers, seven RBI and a stolen base in 12 games, but it wasn't enough to land him a spot on Atlanta's Opening Day roster. The 28-year-old speedster will likely get a couple starts over the next week while Michael Harris II (back) remains on the injured list.
Braves recalled OF Eli White from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He'll replace the injured Michael Harris II (back) on the active roster. White had a great spring with the Braves and it translated in his early results in Triple-A. He should be fairly active in the outfield during Harris' absence, though we wouldn't expect mixed-league relevancy here.
