2025 Player Outlook
Edman was a league average bat who played above average defense at two premium positions (SS, CF) after coming over to the Dodgers at the trade deadline. An excellent post-season inspired the Dodgers to sign him to a five-year extension. He figures to be the regular center fielder in 2025 who can add some value in the stolen base department and should score plenty of runs if he can get on base enough.

Dodgers placed INF/OF Tommy Edman on the 10-day injured list with right ankle inflammation.
Tommy Edman (ankle) remains out of the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Braves.
Edman sat out Wednesday’s game due to right ankle discomfort and after Thursday’s off-day he’s still feeling it a bit so he’ll get another breather. At the moment, it doesn’t sound like anything that’s going to require a trip to the injured list, but if it lingers through the weekend the Dodgers’ hand may ultimately be forced. Miguel Rojas will start in his place at second base on Friday night and will bat ninth against Grant Holmes and the Braves.

It explains why Edman sat out Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against the Marlins. The 29-year-old will benefit from the extra time off to rest and recover. It sounds like there’s a chance he’s ready for Friday’s series opener against the Braves at Truist Park. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Edman will get a break for the series finale, but is out of the lineup for the second of three games against the Fish. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at second base against Cal Quantrill and the Miami bullpen and hit seventh.
