Arraez is back at first base and batting second on Tuesday night, as expected, after missing just over one week recovering from a concussion that he suffered during an on-field collision back on April 20.

Arraez landed on the 7-day concussion injured list last Monday following a scary on-field collision the previous night in Houston. The 28-year-old infielder dealt with concussion symptoms for a couple days last week, but has been symptom-free of late and was able to complete workouts. All signs point to him being ready to return for Tuesday’s showdown in San Diego.

The move is now official. Arraez remains in concussion protocol following a scary-looking collision with Astros infielder Mauricio Dubón during Sunday night’s contest at Daikin Park. There should be some clarity on the 28-year-old infielder’s status at some point in the coming days, but fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least one week for now. The Padres have called up light-hitting infielder Mason McCoy to take his spot on the active roster.

Arraez came out of Sunday’s collision better than it looked initially, but he’s going to miss some time. No word yet on his roster replacement, but Luis Campusano has been crushing baseballs in Triple-A and could be called up to help out at DH, leaving Gavin Sheets and Yuli Gurriel to platoon at first base.
