Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 3-0 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.
Alonso’s incredible start the season continued on Saturday. After driving in a run with a double in the third inning, he took John King deep for a solo homer in the eighth to give the Mets an insurance run. The 30-year-old slugger is up to six homers on the year while slashing .356/.467/.753 with 23 RBI across 90 plate appearances.
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 and slugged his fifth home run of the season as the Mets fell to the Twins on Tuesday evening in Minneapolis.
Alonso got the Mets on the board with a bang, launching a 416-foot (106.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Bailey Ober in the top half of the first inning. He also doubled off of Griffin Jax in the eighth inning but was left stranded there. With his 2-for-4 night, the 30-year-old first baseman is now slashing .356/.466/.729 with five homers and 20 RBI in what has been an unbelievable start to the 2025 season.
Pete Alonso said he’d like to play for Team USA again in next year’s World Baseball Classic.
Alonso and Paul Goldschmidt were Team USA’s first basemen last time around. Bryce Harper wanted to play then, but his Tommy John surgery prevented it. One imagines Harper will be in the mix at first base next time around. Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson would also be quality options.
Pete Alonso went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a win over the Athletics on Friday.
