Astros placed RHP Tayler Scott on the 15-day injured list retroactive to September 18th with thoracic spine sprain.
This ends Scott’s season and it’s unclear if he’ll be able to make it back for the playoffs. He was replaced on the active roster by Seth Martinez.
Tyler Scott didn’t give up a hit in three scoreless innings in a start against the Pirates on Monday.
Astros selected the contract of RHP Tayler Scott.
Scott was a non-roster invitee to spring camp, but with Bennett Sousa and Lance McCullers Jr. added to the injured list, it opened a spot for the 31-year-old. Scott has pitched in 46 innings throughout his major league career with a career 9.00 ERA and 2.17 WHIP.
Astros signed RHP Tayler Scott to a minor league contract.
Scott will presumably also receive an invitation to spring training. The 31-year-old righty made 18 appearances (two starts) this past season between the Dodgers, Red Sox and Athletics. He’ll bolster Houston’s organizational relief depth heading into 2024 and should have a chance in spring training to win a spot on the Astros’ season-opening roster.
