Angels signed INF Drew Ellis to a minor league contract.
Ellis catches on with the Halos following a stint with the Charleston Dirty Birds of the independent Atlantic League. The 28-year-old infielder has appeared in 47 career games in the majors between the Diamondbacks, Mariners and Phillies. He got into 12 contests last year for Philadelphia.

Ellis passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last Friday and will likely elect to stick around with the Phillies as extra position player depth heading into the postseason.
