The 29-year-old hurler is in the process of recovering from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and is expected to miss most — if not all — of the 2025 season. He’ll get to rehab with the Mets for the 2025 campaign and then slot into their bullpen for the 2026 campaign. No word yet on the financials of the pact.

This was a formality after both players were DFA’d to open up 40-man roster spots on Tuesday. They’re officially free agents now. It sounds like the Cubs are hoping Alzolay returns, but Wisdom is likely to head elsewhere.

There’s most likely an organization out there willing to bring him in for his rehabilitation process and roll the dice on him returning to form.
