2025 Player Outlook

Overall for the 2024 campaign as a member of the Tigers and Dodgers, Flaherty went 13-7 with a 3.17 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and his 162 IP were the most he logged in a regular season since 2019. He's increased the usage on his breaking pitches the past couple of seasons, and his curve (or knuckle curve) posted a 43.6 percent whiff rate and .164 BAA last season. Availability is the name of the game for Flaherty, and he showed what he can do when he stays healthy, but I wouldn't be quick to remove any injury concerns from Flaherty's ledger. Flaherty is an SP3 for fantasy this year, but there's considerable risk at his ADP with his track record.

Jack Flaherty struck out eight but allowed five runs — four earned — in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.

Flaherty allowed just an unearned run over the first five innings, but imploded in the sixth. He allowed a pair of two-run singles to Luis Rengifo and Kyren Paris before exiting. He did only walk one, but what looked like a dominant outing turned into a disappointing one relatively quickly. He’ll be back on the bump against the struggling Texas offense next weekend.

Jack Flaherty allowed four runs over five innings while picking up a loss Monday to the Astros.

Flaherty allowed a pair of two-run homers; one to Christian Walker in the fourth and another to Jose Altuve two innings later. Minus those roundtrippers the right-hander pitched fine, but it’s hard to erase a pair of two-run blasts.

Jack Flaherty lost to the Padres after allowing two runs in six innings Tuesday.

Flaherty struck out nine in his longest start of the season. Alas, run support has been an issue as he’s opened up 1-2 with a 2.63 ERA. The Tigers have been shut out in each of his last two starts, and they haven’t scored with him in the ballgame since Apr. 4. Flaherty will face the Astros next.

Jack Flaherty wasn’t at his best in Tuesday night’s loss to the Brewers, surrendering three runs on five hits across 4 2/3 innings.

Flaherty struck out four opposing hitters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. The Brewers got him for a pair of runs in the second inning, including a solo blast off the bat of Rhys Hoskins, then scratched one another in the fourth on a bloop RBI single by Joey Ortiz. Flaherty threw 98 pitches (56 strikes) in the contest and still couldn’t navigate through five innings, getting 12 whiffs and posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll tote an impressive 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 25/9 K/BB ratio (21 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s tilt against the Royals.
