The 33-year-old has seen better days and finishes Mets camp with his worst Spring Training in his MLB career. Voit went 4-for-34 (.118 AVG) with 14 strikeouts and finished with a .455 OPS. Despite having plenty of major league experience, his performance this spring could be a tough sell for any team this season.

No real surprises here, despite all three having extensive major league experience. It’s likely that all three will wind up opting out to explore their options on the free agent market.

Mets signed 1B Luke Voit to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Voit is officially back with the Mets as a non-roster invitee and will attempt to win a spot on their season-opening roster over a younger alternative like Mark Vientos as a right-handed bench bat. He could wind up pushing DJ Stewart for at-bats at designated hitter as well. The 33-year-old journeyman slugger posted a .548 OPS with zero homers in 74 plate appearances last year for the Brewers, but obliterated the ball at the Triple-A level. There might be something left in the tank here.

This after just signing Ji-Man Choi to battle with DJ Stewart and Mark Vientos for DH duties. Voit spent time with the Mets’ Triple-A team last year. He also got into 22 games with the Brewers, hitting .221/.284/.265.
