Jose Miguel Fernandez

About 2 years ago, Fernandez was considered one of the best players in Cuba. He defected a little over a year ago and MLB granted him free agency last April. The problem with Fernandez is that he's 28 years old and hasn't played baseball since 2014 due to a previous failed attempt to defect. So he will certainly need time in the minors to regain what he may have lost, but it's believed that he could still crack a major league roster and contribute in a big way.
