2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: When healthy, Sims can be a valuable part of this Cincy bullpen, just like we saw last season. Across a career high 61 innings of work, he posted a 3.10 ERA (4.37 FIP), 1.18 WHIP, seven wins, three saves, 23 holds, and a 27.9 percent strikeout rate. His ground ball rate dropped to the first percentile last season, but he used his fastball up in the zone, but beyond that, his slider's fly ball rate jumped to over 40 percent, marking the third straight season that number has increased. His slider was elite last year, resulting in a .147 BAA and .266 SLG, not to mention a 41.5 percent whiff rate.
2024 Outlook: Sims is an intriguing option in leagues that value SV+H, but durability concerns are prevalent with Sims, who is no stranger to the injured list. Outside of leagues that value holds, Sims can be left off your draft board, as Diaz has a stranglehold on the ninth inning job for the Reds.
