Mantiply appeared in just two games during this brief stint with the D’Backs, and the results weren’t any better — giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over 2 1/3 innings. He’ll continue to sort out his issues at the Triple-A level.

Mantiply rejoins Arizona’s relief corps after spending a couple weeks in Triple-A exile. The 34-year-old veteran southpaw was sent down back in mid-April after struggling to a 15.95 ERA in eight relief appearances to kick off the season.

Mantiply has been jettisoned to the minors after playing a starring role during Friday’s sudden implosion against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. The 34-year-old southpaw recorded only two outs and was charged with three runs in an eventual loss. Not great.

It’s a nice raise over the $925,000 that the 33-year-old southpaw took home during the 2024 season. Mantiply has become one of the most reliable arms in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen, registering a 3.92 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 53/18 K/BB ratio over 59 2/3 innings during the 2024 campaign. Expect him to function in a middle relief capacity once again in 2025.
