2025 Player Outlook

While Benintendi's batting average tanked to .229, which was the lowest of his career in a season where he played in at least 30 games, his 20 home runs were the most he's hit in a season since 2017 as a member of the Red Sox. His Statcast metrics rebounded closer to his career averages, and the combination of harder contact and more fly balls (first time above 30 percent since 2021) led to some increased power production. He looked much, much better after the All-Star break, but at the end of the day, Benintendi is who he is at this point. The power numbers last year are his absolute ceiling, and outside of Luis Robert Jr., who could be playing elsewhere early August, there's no strong presence in this lineup. Conservatively, give him 10-13 home runs with a .240 average and 3-6 stolen bases. Low ceiling, slightly higher but still low floor player.

Andrew Benintendi went 0-for-4 for a second straight appearance Sunday against the A’s.

Benintendi has four homers this season, but that is the entirety of his production; he’s batting .217, he has zero doubles and he’s walked a total of five times in 75 plate appearances. There isn’t anything here to be encouraged about.

Andrew Benintendi went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, walk, and two runs scored on Friday against the Red Sox.

Benintendi seemed to relish in his return to Fenway Park greeted to cheers by the Red Sox faithful and curving a home run around the Pesky Pole. That home run was his first hit after a minimum stay on the injured list and it was nice to see him stay hot. He’s played inspired ball so far this season with an .861 OPS and at least one hit in eight of his 11 games played at or near the top of the White Sox lineup.

White Sox activated Andrew Benintendi (adductor) from the 10-day IL.

Benintendi wound up spending the minimum amount of time on the IL with his adductor strain. He will return to a .290/.333/.484 slash line with two home runs and six RBI in nine games. He remains on the deep league fantasy radar despite playing for the White Sox.

White Sox placed OF Andrew Benintendi on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 7, with an adductor sprain.

Benintendi will be eligible to return from the injured list on April 17, but there’s a decent chance he’ll be out until later in April. The White Sox will recall Greg Jones to take Benintendi’s spot on the roster, but Michael A. Taylor will see the majority of the playing time in left with Benintendi out.
