Victor Caratini went 1-for-2 with the game-winning RBI in a 2-1 win against the Mariners on Tuesday.
Both teams struggled at the plate as the game extended to the 12th inning tied at one run. Caratini delivered what would be the game-winning RBI with a single in the top of the 12th after he entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the tenth.

Caratini had been out since July 20 with a hip flexor strain. He’ll resume backing up Yainer Díaz, though with Díaz performing well, he’ll likely play less than he did in the weeks before he got hurt.
Victor Caratini (hip) went 2-for-2 on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Caratini kicked off a minor league rehab assignment earlier this week down in Florida and figures to be ready to return to Houston’s backup catcher role after the All-Star break. The 30-year-old backstop has been out since late June recovering from a left hip flexor strain.

The move is retroactive to June 20th. The veteran backstop was hitting .248 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 105 at-bats this season. Cesar Salazar should fill in as the backup catcher.
