2025 Player Outlook
Lugo nearly has as many pitches in his arsenal as he had wins last year! In what was a career year for the veteran right-hander, he went 16-9 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and career high 206.2 IP. Of course, when pitchers have big innings jump from one season to the next, there's always a little bit of worry the year following the big jump. However, dating back to 2022, Lugo's innings have jumped from 65, to 146.1, to 206.2! His numbers last year were carried by a stronger first "half" of the year, but he was still more than respectable after the All-Star Break (3.84 ERA, 1.09 WHIP). His ERA will be closer to 4.00 than 3.00 this year, but he should win double-digit games with a sub-1.20 WHIP and strikeout rate in the low-twenties. He isn't the most glamorous SP3 (15-teamers) or SP4 (12-teamers), and even with some statistical regression in terms of his ERA, he should remain productive and provide your team with solid ratios.
