Baumann last appeared in the majors with the Mets and Padres back in 2018. The 34-year-old southpaw reliever holds a pedestrian 5.58 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 35/18 K/BB ratio across 30 2/3 innings (38 appearances) in the big leagues since 2016. He hasn't pitched professionally since making 17 appearances for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League back in 2019. He'll bolster the Orioles' organizational relief depth this season.

Baumann cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Baumann was designated for assignment by the Mets on Tuesday after allowing 13 runs (10 earned) across 3.1 innings between the Padres and Mets in 2018. The 30-year-old has fared much better at Triple-A this season, posting a 1.29 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 18 strikeouts across 14 innings.

Baumann was designated for assignment by the Mets on Tuesday.

The Mets needed to clear a spot on their active and 40-man rosters for the return of Anthony Swarzak, and Baumann was the choice to go. This move isn't all too surprising, as the 30-year-old allowed a whopping eight runs across three innings for the Mets this season. He'll now be subjected to waivers.
