Gustave signed a minor league contract with Arizona back in January after making 27 relief appearances last year for the Brewers. He missed the final two months of last season with a right forearm injury and was eventually non-tendered by Milwaukee. He was torched for 15 runs (14 earned) with a 5/6 K/BB ratio across 7 2/3 innings (nine appearances) this season for Triple-A Reno. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty should be able to find a new opportunity rather quickly.

It's a nice landing spot for Gustave, who will have a decent shot at making Arizona's season-opening roster. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty posted a strong 3.69 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 40/16 K/BB ratio across 46 1/3 innings (41 appearances) over the last two years for the Brewers. He missed the final two months of last season due to right forearm discomfort before being non-tendered by Milwaukee.

Gustave had a 3.86 ERA in 28 innings last season before missing the final two months with a forearm problem. The Brewers might have a shot at bringing him back on a minor league contract.

Not good. No word yet on the severity of the injury or how long Gustave will be sidelined. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week.
