Paul Konerko is slated for his final start at first base in Sunday's season finale.
Konerko is sitting on a .279 career batting average with 439 home runs, with the majority of his production coming since joining the White Sox in 1999. Although he will likely not find himself in Cooperstown, he has certainly been a class act over the course of his career and will be missed in the White Sox clubhouse when he retires after the season.
Paul Konerko is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Thursday.
Konerko is still dealing with a hand issue, so he\'s been in and out of the lineup the last few games. With this being the White Sox final series of the season and a home one at that, you can expect Konerko to be in the lineup over the weekend for his last hurrah.
Manager Robin Ventura said plan for now is Paul Konerko will start Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
This could be Konerko\'s last time playing in a White Sox uniform, so Ventura is going to get him plenty of playing time before the season is over.
Paul Konerko said he was satisfied with his return from a broken sesamoid bone Friday.
Konerko was satisfied, but it is doubtful his fantasy owners were. Konerko will likely get a few more starts in the last week of his career, but there is no reason to play him in any format.
