Oh well, Carlos. You gave it a shot. But batting .136 over 18 big league games and not showing much promise while sitting down in Triple-A should give you some indication of your next move. It\'s called retirement. Get yourself a rocking chair and some Country Time Lemonade and give Wilfred Brimley a call about some life insurance. It\'s been fun, but you have to know when to call it quits.

Either Pena is just taking a shot that the Rangers first base situation will continue to flounder and he\'ll be back up soon or he knows that no one else will even give him a shot and he just wants to keep playing ball. Whichever the case may be, he\'s not worthy of a roster spot on any of your teams.

Sorry, Carlos. Guess it just didn\'t pan out. Pena saw action in 18 games for the Rangers and hit a woeful .136 with one home run and two RBI with 11 strikeouts over 59 at-bats. He\'s probably as close to done in this business as you can get without actually being retired so there\'s no reason to bother with him again.

Maybe it was all the grief they got in the media for not signing Kendrys Morales or maybe this was their plan all along, but the much cheaper Pena delivered the goods in just his second game for the Rangers. He\'s going to struggle with the batting average as we all well know, but he\'s got the potential to really crush the ball while playing half his games in Arlington now. If you\'re looking for a cheap source of power and can sacrifice some batting average, Pena could be worth a look.
