Hiroki Kuroda is heading back to play in Japan.
Kuroda has pitched the last three seasons with the Yankees, but at 40 years old, he\'s decided to return to japan to finish his career. It was looking like Kuroda may retire, as the Yankees weren\'t showing a lot of interest in resigning him. Kuroda had a 3.71 ERA with 146 strikeouts 199 innings last season for New York.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is unsure if Hiroki Kuroda will return to the Yankees next season.
Kuroda will be 40 years old by the time spring training commences and is certainly close to retiring, but he may decide to give it one more go around. If he does choose to pitch in 2015, it seems very likely that he\'ll pitch for the Yankees or in Japan.
Hiroki Kuroda allowed two earned runs on three hits while walking none and striking out nine over eight innings in the Yankees 6-5 win over the Orioles on Thursday.
Kuroda was in line for the win until the theatrics of the ninth inning, but obviously that didn\'t happen. Still, Kuroda pitched a phenomenal game in what could be his final career start. Kuroda finishes the season with a 3.71 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and 146 strikeouts over 199 innings pitched.
Hiroki Kuroda allowed three runs(two earned) on seven hits while walking none and striking out seven over 6.2 innings in the Yankees 5-3 win over the Blue Jays on Friday.
Kuroda was a bit unlucky early in the season, but at the end of the day he is the same solid pitcher he has always been. If he pitches again next season he will be a good late-round target in drafts.
