Colvin has fallen on hard times since bashing 55 extra-base hits and hitting .290 over 136 games with the Rockies in 2012, with his major contact woes ultimately resulting in him dropping out of affiliated ball the last two years. After spending the 2016 campaign in the independent ranks, Colvin didn't play anywhere in 2017, but the 32-year-old isn't quite ready to call it a career just yet. Colvin will presumably head to the Dodgers' minor-league camp and look to prove that he's deserving of an assignment to either Triple-A Oklahoma City or Double-A Tulsa.

The White have very little outfield depth, and Colvin could play a significant role this season. He has 49 home runs in 441 career games but has struggled to make contact. He had a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in 149 plate appearances for the Giants last season.

The 29-year-old Colvin has played at the Major-league level in every season since 2009 (splitting time between the majors and minors in most of those seasons), and this move is likely motivated by his hopes of finding a team that will give him a better chance at seeing time in the majors again in 2015. Regardless of where he ends up, Colvin hasn't shown any reason to consider having him on your fantasy team in several years.

Colvin has posted some rather pedestrian numbers over his career, peaking in 2010, where he hit 20 home runs and in 2012, where he posted a .290 batting average. On his career he\'s a .239 hitter, so unless there is a significant injury to a Marlins outfielder next season, he shouldn\'t be on the major league roster in 2015.
