Veteran catcher John Buck has retired.

Buck finishes off his career as a .234 hitter with a total of 134 home runs and 491 RBI over 1,090 games. Fantasy owners can easily recount the times they've been suckered into using him due to his ability to start the season strong. Come the month of May, though, it was more fizzle than sizzle.

John Buck will only earn a spot on Atlanta's Opening Day roster if the Braves opt to carry three catchers.

After hitting 63 HRs from 2010-2013, Buck's power completely disappeared in 2014 when he hit only one HR in 32 games. His days of fantasy relevance are behind him.

Braves have given C John Buck a minor league deal with a spring training invite.

After losing Evan Gattis via trade, the Braves are now in the market for some catching depth. Buck is a solid veteran with little upside, but you know what you are going to get out of him. In any event, he shouldn't be any where near your 2015 fantasy radar.

Angels designated OF Brennan Boesch and C John Buck for assignment on Tuesday.

Both of these players were part of the Angels playoff roster, but struggled in the postseason. They made this move to clear space for their newly acquired outfielders, Roger Kieschnick and Alfredo Marte.
