Chris Perez has retired from baseball.
Perez has decided to call it quits. He has accumulated 133 saves since 2008 when he appeared with the St. Louis Cardinals. You may remember him as the guy charged with having marijuana mailed to his house in his dog's name back in June 2013.
Orioles have signed free-agent RP Chris Perez to a minor league deal.
This move has zero fantasy value as Perez is currently suspended and will not be able to pitch in the majors until September. He had a few decent seasons in Cleveland, but the chances of him ever becoming relevant again are almost nonexistent.
Chris Perez was suspended 50 games for a second positive test for a drug of abuse.
Perez has had documented drug issues in the past. The former Indians closer is trying to make his way back onto a major league roster, but this isn't going to help his chances.
Brewers have signed reliever Chris Perez to a minor-league deal.
Perez has struggled over the past two seasons, posting an ERA of 4.33 in 2013 and 4.27 in 2014. The former Indians closer will look to bounce back with the Brewers who currently lack a closer but Perez is likely a long shot to even be considered for that role baring a stellar spring.
