Carl Edwards Jr. has elected free agency.
The 33-year-old hurler was sent outright to Triple-A Salt Lake after being designated for assignment earlier in the week, but he’ll explore his options instead of remaining in the Angels’ organization. Edwards posted a 9.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and a 2/1 K/B ratio over three innings with the Halos.
