Wade Miley is expected to resume throwing soon after leaving his rehab start Sunday with a groin injury.
Fortunately, it wasn’t a setback with his arm as he makes his way back from Tommy John. An MRI on his groin came back negative, so he could resume pitching in minor league games within a couple of weeks.
Wade Miley was removed from his minor league rehab start in the first inning on Sunday due to an apparent injury.
The 38-year-old southpaw is working his way back from Tommy John surgery. The Reds are obviously going to be taking a cautious approach here and pulling him if there’s any hint of soreness, so we won’t get a real read on what’s going on here until the Reds provide an official update.
Reds reassigned LHP Wade Miley to minor league camp.
Miley latched on with the Reds back in late January as a non-roster invitee and will continue working his way back from last year’s Tommy John surgery in the minors. The 38-year-old lefty figures to gobble up some innings for Cincinnati at some point later this season.
Reds signed LHP Wade Miley to a minor league contract.
Miley is making his way back from Tommy John surgery and hopes to resume pitching in the majors before the end of May. The 38-year-old made just two appearances for the Brewers last season, but he was very good in 2023, going 9-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts. He had maybe the best season of his career with the Reds in 2021, going 12-7 with a 3.37 ERA in 163 innings.
