2024 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Across 151.1 IP for the Giants last year, Cobb posted a 7-7 record with a 3.87 ERA (4.01 FIP), 7.79 K/9, 2.20 BB/9, and 57.6 percent ground ball rate. His season was cut short due to a hip issue that will likely cause him to miss the first half of the 2024 season. Cobb has been a ground ball machine for most of his career, but last year's 57.6 percent ground ball rate was the third-highest mark of his entire career! 

2024 Outlook: Cobb won't give your team lofty strikeout numbers by any means, but he should your ratios overall, and since joining the Giants in 2022, he's posted a 2.34 ERA and 1.10 WHIP when pitching at home! If your league has multiple IL spots, you could consider stashing Cobb, though I think you could just pick him up in-season as he's getting closer to returning to the rotation.
