Tim Hudson went 2 1/3 innings and allowed three runs in a loss to the Dodgers on Thursday afternoon.
Tim Hudson had a fine career, but at this point, it seems like it might be done. His contract is up, and his play has significantly declined over this past season, so his prospects are pretty slim for next year. At 40 years old, he’ll probably hang ‘em up, but lets appreciate what he’s brought to the big leagues since 1999.
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tim Hudson will start Thursday but it will be short work.
Hudson will be making his final start of the season on Thursday and the final start of his career as he is set to retire. Hudson has gone 8-8 with a 4.30 ERA over 23 games this season for the Giants.
Tim Hudson allowed three runs (two earned) on one hit with three walks in 1 1/3 innings against the A’s on Saturday.
Tim Hudson has had a tough season with injury issues for the Giants. On Saturday, Hudson only pitched 1 1/3 innings in Oakland with three walks and two earned runs. Hudson walked in two bases loaded runs in his appearance for the first time in his career and his season may be over with a 4.30 ERA. Since Hudson may not pitch again this year, his fantasy appeal is limited going forward.
Tim Hudson threw six scoreless innings against Arizona on Sunday with three walks and four hits allowed along with three strikeouts.
This was Hudson’s third turn since rejoining the rotation, and he’s earned his keep. In 16 1/3 innings he has allowed just two runs. His six walks and eight strikeouts aren’t all that impressive, but he keeps the ball on the ground at a really good clip which helps. He’ll go again Saturday in Oakland.
