Indians have officially declined the 2017 club option on OF Coco Crisp.

it was a good run for Crisp and he proved to be clutch and the playoffs with a couple of big hits. Crisp will likely find a new team soon but he's 37 years old and his career is slowly coming to an end.

Indians are expected to decline their $13 million option on Coco Crisp

Crisp was a mid-season acquisition of the Indians when it became clear that Michael Brantley wasn't going to be coming back this season and they needed some depth. The aging outfielder has had trouble staying healthy in recent seasons with back and neck issues, so the $13 million it would take to keep him doesn't make sense here. He could sign back with Cleveland, however it would be for a much lower price and only as a part time player at that.

Coco Crisp is in the Indians starting lineup on Sunday.

Crisp started in left field in Game 1 but was absent from the lineup on Friday and it appears as though he's back in the lineup today against Clay Buccholz. The switch-hitting Crisp gives the Indians an advantage in the lower part of their lineup, and the 36-year-old hit .236 against righties this season which is much higher than his .214 clip that he hit against left-handers. Crisp, a former Red Sock, will hit seventh today.
