While fantasy managers will appreciate Perez's dual-eligibility, his fantasy output is best maximized behind the dish. He's swatted 23+ home runs in four straight seasons, and his 2024 season was the closest he's been to his magical 2021 season. Fantasy managers in OBP leagues are likely very well aware of his 6.7 percent walk rate, as that was far and away the best mark he's posted in the last decade. Health willing, your "catcher" will play in 140+ games for the third straight season, and the sheer number of ABs from Perez in an intriguing Kansas City lineup makes him a top five fantasy catcher itself. Despite his age, expect another 25+ homer campaign with 85+ RBI.

Salvador Perez is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Friday night’s soiree against the Astros.
There haven’t been any rumblings of any sort of injury, so it sounds like it’s just a regular day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Freddy Fermin will start behind the plate and will bat eighth for the Royals against Astros’ right-hander Hayden Wesneski.
Salvador Perez went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI on Thursday, leading the Royals to a 6-2 victory over the Rockies in the second game of their doubleheader.
Perez chased Rockies’ starter Chase Dollander from the game with a two-run double in the fifth inning that extended the Royals’ lead to 5-0. The 34-year-old backstop also led off the second inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Michael Massey. His bat has started to perk up a bit, but even with the three-hit attack he’s still slashing only .220/.271/.360 on the season to go with two homers and 14 RBI.
