McAllister signed a minor league contract with the Yankees last month and gets the call to the majors for the first time since the 2018 campaign after posting a microscopic 1.62 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 20/4 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings (11 appearances) for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The 35-year-old hurler was just released by the Diamondbacks on Thursday, so it didn’t take him long to land on his feet elsewhere. McAllister — who hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2018 — posted a 4.93 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and a 54/20 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings at Triple-A Reno. He’ll add minor league bullpen depth for the Yankees.

McAllister signed a minor league pact last December with Arizona and didn’t wind up making it back to the majors. The 35-year-old journeyman right-hander hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2018 season at this point.
