LaTroy Hawkins picked up his first save as a member of the Blue Jays on Wednesday, allowing just two hits in the ninth inning to close out the Blue Jays 9-7 win over the Twins.
Hawkins came over in the Troy Tulowitzki deal and earned his first save as a member of the Blue Jays and his third save overall this season. Hawkins is not expected to be the Blue Jays closer as he had previously appeared in three prior games in a middle relief role.
LaTroy Hawkins will be available for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.
The 42-year-old Hawkins will be available out of the Blue Jays bullpen on Tuesday evening. The veteran arm has posted a 3.63 ERA and 20/4 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings this season. This is the 11th team that Hawkins has played for in his professional career.

Roberto Osuna's numbers have been great this season, and while Hawkins has closing experience, it would be a minor shock if he closes for the Blue Jays. With Hawkins gone, Tommy Kahnle is likely next in line to close in Colorado should John Axford continue to struggle.

Hawkins logged his first save since the beginning of April on Tuesday night, but is not expected to be used in the closer role once John Axford returns from a family emergency. At this point Hawkins is nothing more than a hold league play and should only be owned in the deepest of formats.
