Bastardo was suspended for 140 after testing positive for Stanozolol on Friday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic Pittsburgh reports.

Bastardo was released by the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Bastardo signed a minor-league deal with the Diamondbacks that includes an invitation to spring training, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

The Pirates released Bastardo after designating him for assignment Saturday, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
