Kyle Gibson allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.
He struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass, throwing 63 pitches (45 strikes) in this one. Orioles general manager Mike Elias told reporters Tuesday that he expects Gibson to make at least one additional minor-league start before making his Baltimore debut sometime around May 1.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Saturday that Kyle Gibson won’t be an option next week for the Orioles.
Baltimore will need a fifth starter next week, but it won’t be Gibson, with Hyde indicating that his promotion to the Orioles is “down the road.” The 37-year-old signed late in the season, so his debut likely won’t come until the middle of May.
